Assurance Leadership Forum North

On Tuesday 20th March ROQ, in partnership with Gerrard Consulting, held the inaugural Assurance Leadership Forum North (ALF North) at The Studio in Central Manchester.

The ALF (formerly Test Management Forum) has been running as a successful quarterly event in London since January 2004 and has had over 3,500 attendees through its doors over its 14-year history. The ALF offers a chance for senior testers, assurance practitioners, managers and technical test specialists to network and discuss some of the key topics within the field.

The first event held in Manchester was incredibly successful with over 30 attendees – from this growing sector – participating in four streams over two separate sessions over the course of the afternoon. We were lucky enough to be joined by four great speakers who delivered really insightful and varied sessions such as:

  • Will Tools Replace Testers?
  • Is Psychology of Software Development Coming of Age?
  • Is it time for Test Data Management to become a core discipline rather than an irritating dependency?
  • Assurance: The Evolution of Test Management

There was great feedback from everyone who attended, who felt that they gained some real value from the afternoon due to the format, the variety of speakers and the insights gained.

The slides from the afternoon will be available on the ALF website here. We are already looking forward to holding another ALF North later this year, with details available in due course.
