ROQ, the strategic software testing solutions provider, delivered the second in a series of successful CIO Spotlight events designed to deliver insights to drive success in the digital age.
The event, held at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on the Thames Embankment in Central London, focused on ‘Driving Customer Engagement and Loyalty’ and was attended by IT decision makers and business leaders from a broad range of public and private sector organisations across the capital and beyond.
The keynote speaker for the event was Marco Pera, Global Head of Platform Management for HSBC, following an opening address from Institute of Directors (IoD) Economist, Michael Martins.
Michael outlined his vision for the future of the UK technology sector in a post-Brexit world, highlighting how the UK’s flexible labour market, excellent higher education and great connectivity are conducive to a very healthy future, despite any temporary disruption that may occur in the months after Article 50 is triggered.
Marco enlightened delegates with his insights into how HSBC is reinventing the way it positions itself to engage more effectively with users, finding new and innovative ways to deliver the increasingly complex services customers demand. He also outlined how the bank is actively assessing its own internal operations and employee behaviours to stay one step ahead of the changes taking place. Marco noted that big data underpins every aspect of the digital transformation process, and this applies not just to banks, but to all organisations who engage with an increasingly tech-savvy customer base, at any stage. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure that the software underpinning data collection and processing always works efficiently and effectively.
Andrew Ayres, Director - UK & Ireland at ROQ, said: “There’s never been a more important time for organisations to consider the implications of digital transformation, and how they can continue to expand and improve the services they provide to their customers. It was our pleasure to welcome CIOs from a broad range of industries to share their insights and experiences on this all-important topic.”
The next ROQ CIO Spotlight will have a government and public sector focus and will take place in London on Thursday 22nd June 2017.
