Some notable achievements during his time at ROQ include:
  • Active on circa 65 pieces of work a month (projects and BAU) delivering on average 35 BAU deliveries a month.
  • An automation first approach has seen a 5-fold increase on BAU projects utilising the same sized team.
  • Implementation of an iOS Automation framework reducing manual execution effort by an average of 157 days per year, saving circa £62k per annum.
  • Refactored SAP Automation framework inherited from previous supplier and introduced significant enhancements, reducing annual execution & maintenance effort by 210 days, saving £82k
  • 4 x Graduate employees integrated into the team by James per annum giving them a platform to develop and ensure succession management is in place.
Graham Hurlston, Lead Automation Engineer at ROQ, had this to say about the Test Manager of The Year nominee:

“I joined ROQ on the graduate programme in 2017 and have worked with James as my line manager for 3 years. In the time I have been at ROQ I have progressed through support, mentoring and training to lead automation engineer. I now take responsibility for automation including reviewing projects and requirements to increase efficiency. James has been there for me every step of the way and I am now in the position to help and mentor graduates in the same way I have been supported. I feel I have achieved an awful lot and I love now being able to step up and help people be the best they can be.”

Everyone at ROQ would like to congratulate James on this truly deserved recognition for the work he and the team put in to delivering a world-class service for our client, and also wish him the best of luck at the awards night on 9th November.
