ISTQB Success: The Meaning of Excellence

At Roq, we believe in two things; people and quality. It’s what we do.

Quality Engineering delivered by people who care, to people that care. We provide tailored services to some of the world’s largest organisations, on some of their most important technology initiatives. But none of this is possible without a team of brilliant people who genuinely care about quality.

We support these beliefs through our Quality Engineering Academy, which is specifically designed to develop people who are really passionate about quality and making technology work properly.

During the past week, we have seen some outstanding achievements from, our team that ensures that Roq’s focus on quality is unwavering and our faith in our people never falters. We have seen eight (yes eight!) members of our team - the majority of whom are aligned to our Apprenticeship - achieve their ISTQB Foundation Accreditation, which is quite the achievement and increases our capability to deliver fantastic services for our clients.

Everything we do at Roq is underpinned by our four core values of Commitment, Passionate, Excellence and Straight Talking, so I’d like to take a minute to discuss exactly how well these individuals have bought in to and applied these values since they joined Roq just a few months ago.

Commitment – To their personal development and the willingness to provide the time and resources to allow thorough preparation to achieve this international, industry recognised accreditation.

Passionate – Their desire to improve their own capability through training and a learning experience to ensure they are delivering outstanding results for our customers.

Straight Talking – With a pass mark of over 65% required to achieve the accreditation it means that all of our team were capable of fully communicating and understanding the syllabus of learning and able to apply their knowledge during their exam.

Excellence – Is in the outcome – 100%! - Eight out of eight successful candidates, that means we have just increased our Quality Engineering capability to another level. This truly is the meaning of excellence!

Our Academy initiative is the ideal introduction to careers in Quality Engineering, and our aim to get everyone ready for promotion to the next stage in their development and this recent success is a huge stepping-stone on the way to achieving that! Our Academy has launched many highly successful careers in the industry and that is something we are very proud of.
