80% time saving: how a healthcare client transformed Dynamics 365 testing

After a failed early release of Microsoft Dynamics 365 left critical finance systems exposed to live defects, our client - a provider of luxury, award-winning care services - engaged Roq to bring structure and rigour to their testing. OUR CLIENT 

Our client is a provider of luxury award-winning residential, nursing and dementia care in a range of locations across London and the home counties. 

THE CLIENT CHALLENGE 

Our client was undertaking a major consolidation of CRM and ERP functions into Microsoft Dynamics 365. However, an early release for the Finance workstream in April 2020 surfaced critical issues: 

  • Multiple live incidents were introduced due to lack of structure and test rigour. 

  • Testing was performed by SMEs without formal expertise, leading to basic and unreliable functional coverage. 

  • No automated regression testing, meaning issues weren’t caught until live deployment. 

With trust eroding and risk increasing, the client needed a partner to implement structured, end-to-end testing across key workstreams. 

WHAT WE DELIVERED 

Through our Managed Service solution, Roq introduced test coverage, governance, and automation across the programme: 

  • Delivered functional testing, UAT, and automated regression packs across Finance, HR, and Payroll. 

  • Worked with third-party vendors and internal SMEs to develop meaningful test suites. 

  • Used RSAT (Regression Suite Automation Tool) to build automated regression packs for Microsoft Dynamics. 

  • Extended beyond the original scope to support Dynamics infrastructure, Customer Engagement (CE) testing, and wider UAT oversight. 

  • Provided coaching and support, helping upskill the client’s Dynamics SME support team.
