Our client is a multinational law firm and a member of the "Magic Circle" of elite London-headquartered law firms. It employs over 2,800 lawyers and operates offices in 20 countries worldwide. 

THE CLIENT CHALLENGE 

Following the release of iOS 13, rapid and frequent beta updates from Apple created significant testing pressure. Key challenges included: 

• Weekly iOS releases, each requiring full device regression coverage. 

• 50+ complex test cases, executed manually across multiple iPhone models. 

• Time constraints that led to incomplete testing and increased risk. 

• A full-time test resource tied to repetitive manual testing, limiting wider team capacity. 

WHAT WE DELIVERED 

As part of our ongoing Managed Service solution, Roq implemented a bespoke version of our proprietary Test Automation Framework, tailored specifically for iOS testing: 

• Automated 58.5% of the regression pack, integrating 15 core business apps including Excel, Word, Workday, and more. 

• Built a solution leveraging Appium, C#, .NET, and NUnit, with custom enhancements to support parallel execution across multiple iPhones. 

• Enabled all devices to run via a single Apple Mac, interfacing seamlessly with a Windows-based automation stack. 

• Delivered a low-maintenance, license-free test pack, easily expandable for future OS or app updates.

The new automation solution gave our client the confidence, speed, and coverage they needed, whilst reducing long-term testing costs:
